Patients and visitors coming to Bradford Royal Infirmary are being urged to wear face masks in clinical areas due to high levels of respiratory illness, especially flu, in the hospital.
Both locally and nationally the NHS is seeing an early wave of flu and respiratory illness, with many patients with severe symptoms being admitted to hospital.
To protect patients, visitors and staff we have decided to introduce the wearing of face masks in high risk clinical areas.
Staff will wear masks in these areas, and we would encourage patients and visitors to do the same. Masks will be available on wards and clinical areas, like the Emergency Department (ED).
One of the best ways to protect yourself and your family is by having the flu jab, if eligible, and by following good hand hygiene practices.
Don’t delay in getting yourself protected. Stay strong. Get vaccinated.
