Bradford-based Sovereign Health Care has made a generous donation of £8,000 to Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTHFT) to support staff’s personal development.
The money will be used to mark the appointment of three new lead allied health professionals (AHPs) by funding personal development for AHPs, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists and radiographers, and non-medical nursing and midwifery health professionals.
Sovereign’s Chief Executive, Neil McCallum presented a cheque to Deputy Chief Nurse, Jo Hilton and our lead AHPs – Workforce Lead for Radiology, Alison Burns; Head of Therapies, Nicola Sheehan; and Principal Dietitian, Rupert Allen.
Chief Nurse, Karen Dawber said:
On behalf of the Trust, I would once again like to express our sincere thanks to Sovereign Health Care for their generous donation and continued support of nursing here at BTHFT.
Sovereign’s generosity allows us to offer further development and training to our colleagues so they can be at their best and deliver even better care to patients.
AHPs make up the third largest clinical workforce, after nurses and doctors, in the NHS who diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients across every stage of life, so we’re delighted to have new leads in the Trust to support this important group.
The funding will allow us to offer more personal development, and we intend to hold a showcase event later in the year to celebrate all the innovation and great work that our AHPs, radiographers and clinical scientists do. This will benefit our staff, families and patients.
Neil McCallum said:
We’re delighted that our donation will fund valuable staff training to support the Trust’s AHPs – helping to deliver even better care for patients across Bradford in 2026 and beyond.
