Understanding the breathing conditions

Dysfunctional breathing patterns may result in breathlessness from breathing through the mouth rather than the optimal option of the nose and using the wrong muscles which cause you to tire more quickly. The diaphragm is the main muscle of respiration and breathing from the bottom of the chest is the most efficient way to breathe rather than from the top of your lungs

More help and advice

We aim to help you in rehab by showing you ways to manage your symptoms as effectively as possible, for example breathing exercises and simple devices to help clear secretions. We may also suggest pulmonary rehabilitation or general exercises to build up exercise tolerance
