What we do

Epilepsy and seizures

Our service offers psychological treatment for people living with epilepsy who are experiencing distress as a result of their condition and are willing to engage in psychological treatment.

What does the service offer?

We provide psychological therapy and cognitive assessments (memory and thinking skills). Like many health conditions, seizures can have a big impact on people’s lives and cause stress and emotional difficulties. Many people with seizures find it useful to work with a psychologist to develop helpful ways of coping and reduce the impact of their health condition.

Where are patients seen?

Appointments take place at The Ridge Medical Practice (Cousen Road, Bradford), and Shipley Health Centre.

How to make a referral

Referrals are accepted from Bradford Teaching Hospitals’ consultant neurologists and clinicians from the Bradford Community Epilepsy Service.

About our service

The Community Head Injury Rehabilitation Team provides a service to people with traumatic brain injury and others who have an important role in the patient’s rehabilitation, such as family, friends, care/support providers and employers.

Our aim is to help clients who have sustained a brain injury increase their independence and access their preferred roles within their community.

CHRT is an integrated health and social care service, comprising of a multi-disciplinary team of clinical neuropsychologists, occupational therapists and a social worker.

What does the service offer?

CIHRT provides specialist rehabilitation for people with traumatic brain injury. The rehabilitation process involves assessment, collaborative goal setting, treatment and ongoing evaluation of outcomes. CIHRT also provides support for others involved with the client’s rehabilitation, support and care.

Referrals can be made by GPs and Neurology consultants. This can be done by completing and sending the CHIRT referral form to CHIRT, Clinical Health Psychology Services, or faxing it to 01274 365177. We welcome phone calls to discuss a potential referral.
