Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Health Psychology, Postgraduate Certificate in Contraception and Sexual Health, ENB 934: Care of People Living with HIV and AIDS

Tanya joined the Infectious Diseases team in June 2019 from sexual health, bringing 35 years nursing experience with 20 years spent in sexual health and HIV.

In a previous role she also spent two years as a harm minimisation nurse/clinical lead/regional dual diagnosis lead in the North East for a large substance misuse charity.

Significant achievements:

  • Winner of local and regional sexual health awards, North East (service development)
  • Individual category, Implementation of Dried Blood Spot Testing in Intravenous Drug Users in the Community
  • Chair and Vice-Chair of Teeside Positive Action, Middlesbrough (now closed)
