I am a Systemic Psychotherapist, also sometimes referred to as a Family Therapist or Family and Systemic Psychotherapist.
I have two roles within BTHFT. In September 2019, I joined the Trust as a senior psychotherapist within the Bradford Homelessness Health Psychology Service (HHPS), and in February 2023, I became the service lead for the BTHFT renal/ kidney health psychology service.
Within my work, I utilise ideas from theories of relational attachment, the embodiment of trauma, social justice, communication, and wellbeing in relation to societal and organisational culture. I have completed additional training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Before my current roles, I have worked in a variety of mental and physical healthcare settings that include oncology, Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP), Children and Young People’s (CYP) Gender, and staff support in primary care, acute NHS, and voluntary sector settings.
Outside of work, I enjoy immersing myself in music and other creative arts, laughing (my preferred remedy for stress and anxiety), and I love to spend time in nature.
