Marian has a passion for representing the views of people from marginalised communities, health improvement in black and minority ethnic communities, and is also interested in health from the perspective of community engagement and involvement.
Her professional background as a qualified accountant and financial analyst combined with a strong academic background (as a teacher) means that she can utilise these skills to support the Trust’s board.
Marian also has strong links with churches in Bradford, the local African and African-Caribbean community, and other local groups.
She is a volunteer with Bradford Citizens Advice Bureau and the African-Caribbean Achievement Project, and comes into contact with members of all sections of the community.
Thanks to her knowledge of health issues relating to black communities, Marion is now working with the governors’ team to help bridge the gap between the community and the NHS.
