Leanne completed her adult nurse training in Leeds and qualified in 1998. She then began her career working in various acute care settings before, in 2005, qualifying as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner working in A&E and minor injury units.

In 2012, Leanne joined the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme as a specialist screening practitioner supporting patients through their cancer screening.

She joined the breast care team here in Bradford in 2020, beginning her role of Breast Care Nurse Specialist. Leanne has a keen interest in breast care and cancer nursing and is currently undertaking a Masters module in breast cancer nursing at the University of Manchester.

Leanne ensures patients receive appropriate support while also providing key information relating to their diagnosis which allows them to make decisions about their treatment.

She also has a keen interest in psychology, yoga, mindfulness and relaxation, and completed her yoga teacher training diploma in 2013.

“I like to share my knowledge and skills with patients and their relatives, to help promote holistic care throughout patients’ cancer pathway,” she said.
