I qualified as an illustrator and designer at the University of Sunderland in 2012 and my career has been varied to date; initially starting as a junior designer working for a global financial services company supporting their marketing functions.

I went on to spend some time working as a designer within the print industry before joining the NHS in 2018, providing design support to the communications department for the Countess of Chester NHS Foundation Trust. I then joined Medical Illustration at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, initially as maternity cover before becoming a permanent Senior Graphic Designer at the Trust in 2019.

The work we carry out within medical illustration is very interesting and extremely varied, with no two days being the same as we work with all departments and specialities across the Trust. The role is constantly evolving because the way patients and staff access and consume information continues to change and the needs and expectations of our patients become more complex.
