I joined the Trust as a newly qualified clinical psychologist in 2005, and have worked in several specialties in the Clinical Health Psychology department. However, I have spent over ten years working with people with COPD, and for much of that time I have been the COPD service lead.
I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Therapy in 2010, and I am trained in Eye Movement and Desensitisation Therapy (EMDR). I’m an HCPC registered clinical psychologist and accredited as a behavioural and cognitive psychotherapist in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy with the BABCP.
I joined the department’s Mindfulness for Health and Wellbeing service as a facilitator in 2018, whilst undertaking MBCT teacher training. My own personal mindfulness practice is an important and valuable part of my role. I’m very passionate about mindfulness and the positive impact it can have on people’s lives.
I feel very privileged to work alongside patients who are living with physical health conditions. I am keen to provide holistic and collaborative care for patients with COPD and enjoy working with colleagues in a supportive team environment.
