Eliz has 31 years’ experience working for the NHS with 18 years as a consultant. She works with acute elderly inpatients on ward 31 at Bradford Royal Infirmary, and with the award-winning Elderly Care Virtual Ward team in patients’ own homes.
Liz has a specialist interest in syncope (blackouts due to a change in heart rhythm or blood pressure, fainting being the commonest cause), and runs Bradford’s Outpatient Syncope Service with cardiologist Paul Smith. She is also one of the Trust’s medical student teachers, and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds.
Liz is a great supporter of the Trust’s own Forget-Me-Not charity which supports patients with dementia and regularly raises funds through sponsored events. In early 2017, she took part in a five-day trek along stretches of the Great Wall of China, organised by the Alzheimer’s Society.
