I work one-to-one with patients experiencing difficulties related to their health conditions. I aim to offer a supportive, non-judgmental space to talk about what is difficult and consider together what might be helpful going forwards.
As a psychosexual therapist, I work with the Bradford Erectile Dysfunction and Diabetes Service at Horton Park. I also see individuals and couples at St Luke’s Hospital, who have psychosexual problems related to their health. This is a talking therapy only.
I have worked as a nurse, a volunteer telephone counsellor, a senior (personal) university tutor, a social worker and a central complaint handler for a multi-national finance organisation.
I have set up and managed a counselling service in a Leeds community centre, counselled men and women who have been raped and sexually abused, and offered groupwork, training workshops, supervision and staff counselling.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my granddaughter, walking in the Dales and re-visiting my thespian leanings in amateur dramatics.
