I qualified from De Montfort University with a BA (Hons) in 1999 as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator, and in 2002 I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Illustration which has helped me progress my career.

I have worked at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2001, when I started as a Junior Designer. My current role as Senior Graphic Designer sees me working on a wide variety of exciting graphic and digital design projects ranging from patient information and scientific posters to Trust Annual Reports, but by far the most enjoyable projects for me are working on the Trust’s screensavers and developing my animation skills.

I am also Medical Illustration’s internal auditor, and developed processes and procedures for a smooth workflow which helped the department gain its most recent QMS accreditation.

In 2016 I was commended for my work on the type 2 diabetes pack for young adults in the BMA Patient Information Awards. I have also received various accolades in the Institute of Medical Illustrators’ (IMI) Patient Information Awards.

In 2018, to keep me out of mischief, I joined the IMI conference team as graphics programme lead; this is a very new challenge for me and one that I think I will benefit from greatly.

Out of work I enjoy attending live music venues both large and small, but by far my biggest passion for the coming year will be the arrival of my first baby. Exciting times ahead!
