• Bradford Teaching Hospitals to hold annual Act of Remembrance

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will come together on Wednesday, 11 November for its annual Act of Remembrance, honouring all those who have served and sacrificed in conflicts past and present.

The service on the main concourse at Bradford Royal Infirmary will begin at 10.55am, allowing attendees to observe the national two minute silence at 11am, marking the Armistice that brought an end to the First World War.

Staff, patients, volunteers, veterans, serving personnel, community partners and members of the public are invited to join the Trust in remembering those who gave their lives in service to their country, as well as those who continue to serve today.

As a Trust proudly holding Veteran Aware Accreditation, the Trust is committed to recognising and supporting veterans, reservists, serving personnel and military families. The remembrance service forms an important part of that commitment and provides an opportunity for reflection, gratitude and community unity.

The service will include readings, an Act of Remembrance, a verse (the exhortation) recited to honour those who died in the war, the two minute silence and inclusive multi-faith prayers and reflections.

Veterans Lead at the Trust, Fiona Mattison said:

Remembrance is an opportunity for us all to pause and reflect on the sacrifices made by so many in the service of our country.

As a Veteran Aware organisation, we are proud to recognise the contribution that veterans, serving personnel and military families make to our communities and our workforce. We hope that colleagues, partners and members of the public will join us as we come together in remembrance.

Following the service, people will be invited to stay for refreshments, provided by Bradford Hospitals Charity, and a selection of homemade baked goods will be available, with donations gratefully received in support of charitable activities across the Trust.
