The Bradford and West Yorkshire Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC), based at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is launching two new investigational clinical trials to evaluate a potential treatment designed to help people lose weight, lower blood sugar levels and improve overall health.
Both trials will investigate different doses of a new medication administered as a weekly injection. Researchers aim to understand how the treatment may benefit people living with obesity or who are overweight, in people with and without Type 2 diabetes.
Who can take part?
To be eligible for the studies, participants must:
- Be aged 18 years or over
- Be living with obesity or overweight
- Have at least one weight-related health condition, such as:
- High blood pressure
- Abnormal cholesterol levels
- Obstructive sleep apnoea (temporary pause in breathing)
- Cardiovascular disease
One of the studies will include those with Type 2 diabetes and one will include those without diabetes.

The NIHR Bradford and West Yorkshire CRDC was established in April 2025 to advance healthcare through the delivery of inclusive commercial clinical trials across the region. As part of the CRDC UK Network, we contribute to a nationally coordinated effort to expand access to commercial research and accelerate innovation in healthcare.
