• Bradford pharmacist up for national award

A senior pharmacist at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is up for a national award.

Philip Moore, Assistant Director of Pharmacy for Clinical Services, has been nominated for an ‘Unsung Hero’ Award at the Clinical Pharmacy Congress which takes place in London this Friday (8 May). It is the UK’s largest event for clinical pharmacy professionals in the country.

    Philip said:

This nomination came as a complete surprise and when I heard about it, I thought there must have been some sort of mistake.

I’m delighted to be shortlisted as a finalist, especially within one of the highest profile events in the clinical pharmacy world.

All I can say is a big ‘thank you’ to my nominator and any recognition should really go to the whole team here in Bradford who are doing fantastic work to ensure patients receive safe and effective care.

Phil, who is originally from Leeds, is one of three people who have been shortlisted by the Clinical Pharmacy Congress 2026 awards.

Each finalist represents outstanding work across clinical pharmacy, reflecting the impact being made across hospital, primary care and wider healthcare settings.

At Bradford Phil looks after the Trust’s pharmacists and clinical pharmacy technicians who work with patients on the hospital wards.

Phil was nominated by colleague, Medicines Safety Officer, Sannah Khan, who described him as “always generous with sharing his wisdom and understanding”, which in turn helps “build competent, well-informed pharmacy professionals at our Trust”.

Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer, Saj Azeb, said:

Phil is wonderful and this nomination is very well deserved.

I am so pleased that Phil’s work has been recognised nationally as his knowledge, hard work and passion for helping patients is a real credit to Bradford Teaching Hospitals.

Phil does amazing work which has a real, positive impact for our local patients and communities.

Winners will be announced live at Clinical Pharmacy Congress in London this Friday, 8 May.
