Endoscopy service awarded prestigious national accreditation
Congratulations to Bradford Royal Infirmary’s (BRI) Endoscopy service which has been awarded a prestigious national accreditation.
Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation is only awarded to the top performing endoscopy units in the country and provides confirmation that the highest standards of patient care are being adhered to.
Matron, Jeanne Poblacion, said: “Our staff constantly put the needs of our patients first and I am so proud of them. The road to accreditation has been long but the moment has finally arrived, and I am absolutely delighted that we have been able to achieve this accreditation, which is a credit to everyone in the team.”
The Endoscopy team already provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to thousands of patients across Bradford and its surrounding districts every year.
This accreditation is an incredible achievement and comes alongside the opening of the new, purpose-built £25m endoscopy unit at the BRI site last month. The BRI is part of Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust which also operates St Luke’s Hospital and the district’s community hospitals.
Dr Sarah Jowett
Lead Consultant for Endoscopy, Sarah Jowett, said: “We are absolutely committed to providing our communities with the best care possible, so to be able to say that our Endoscopy service is now JAG accredited is a fantastic achievement and something that we are exceptionally proud of.”
Awarded by the Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy (JAG), a JAG rating (or more accurately, JAG Accreditation) indicates the unit meets strict national standards regarding patient safety, staff training, and clinical competence.
