Bradford Birth Centre

Our brand new birth centre offers a warm, friendly and relaxed birth environment for women with uncomplicated pregnancies. We offer a family centred approach to care for women who do not wish to birth at home and who do not need to birth in the alongside consultant led unit.

The centre is staffed by our friendly enthusiastic midwives and midwifery support workers who promote active birth therefore minimising the need for intervention.

The centre comprises of 7 birth rooms, 2 of which have a birthing pool, a communal kitchen with dining area facilities.

We are able to provide the use of birthing balls, hanging cloths, birthing mats and a birthing stool as well as the birthing pools.

Pain relief is available in the form of gas and air (entonox), pethidine and meptid, however, if you wish to have an epidural you will be transferred to the consultant led unit. If such a situation occurs where transfer is required, this will be explained to you and your partner and facilitated in a timely manner.
