General Information

The Gynaecology department strives to provide a high quality service relating to Women’s Health and Gynaecological problems/conditions.

Gynaecology care often begins in the gynaecology outpatient department.  The clinics are held in the gynaecology outpatient department at the maternity unit.

For some women seen in the clinic, treatment is provided whilst at the clinic; other women may be required to return for surgery, medical treatment or further investigations.

The gynaecology department are currently working to ensure that all women are seen in the outpatient department and have their treatment within 18 weeks from referral by a GP, to outpatient department, to the start or completion of any treatment that may be needed - this may be an operation, medical treatment.
