Community Paediatrics
General Information
The Community Paediatric Team identify the needs of children with developmental problems including those with developmental delay, learning difficulties, autism etc. In addition they have some specialisation with hearing and visually impaired children. The team is involved with special educational needs, adoption and Looked After Children assessments which include statutory work.
Community Paediatricians work in partnership with the family and carers, using a family centred approach and provide care close to home wherever possible.
Referrals into this service are accepted from the following professionals:
- General Practitioners
- Health Visitors
- School Nurses
- Social Care
- Allied Health Professionals
- Early year’s settings
- Education
