Consultant staff
There are currently 20 Consultant Radiologists who provide general Radiology services. Each Consultant also has a specialist area of interest, usually covering a body area, but sometimes a modality speciality.
Radiographic Staff
There are over 100 members of staff who operate the equipment to obtain the images required for making a diagnosis or carrying out a procedure. Most Radiographers work in one or two areas of expertise to provide a comprehensive Imaging Service, and there is also an on call rota for out of hours imaging.
They are led by a Modality Superintendent and their Superintendent Radiographer.
Administration
There are about 50 members of the administration team who ensure that patients get the examination they need in a timely manner. Radiology Secretaries help to issue reports and support Consultant Radiologists in their administrative roles. Their functions are coordinated by the Administration Manager
Management
The Management Team led by the General Manager makes sure the Directorate functions efficiently within Bradford Teaching Hospitals and is involved at all levels to make sure the service is delivered appropriately.
Nursing
Patient care while in the Department is delivered by a team of Radiology Nurses who are led by the Senior Sister
Other support
The Directorate could not perform without the Radiographic Assistants, Portering Staff and Interpreters who all make sure patients are helped along their investigation pathway.
