Palliative Care
General Information
The palliative care team has clinical and educational roles at both Bradford Royal Infirmary and St. Luke’s Hospital. The service offered is an advisory one, in which patients remain under the care of the referring team. There is also 2 community palliative care teams and local hospices (Marie Curie and Sue Ryder - Manorlands) with whom the team work closely.
The team is made up of one Consultant in Palliative Medicine, Dr Sarah Holmes, four Macmillan clinical nurse specialists, specialist registrar in palliative medicine and a Liverpool Care Pathway Facilitator. There is also an ethnic minority liaison worker (who works across community, hospice and hospital) and a part-time medical secretary.
Referrals should be made with the consent of the consultant or doctor with clinical responsibility and with the consent of the patient (except in exceptional circumstances). Please follow the link below for further information:-
