The directorate comprises of anaesthesia, operating theatres, pain management, critical care, pre-operative assessment and sterile services.
The directorate is forward thinking and develops innovative ideas to improve outcomes and enhance safety for all patients.

20 operating theatres for a range of specialties including acute/emergency surgery |

A department of highly skilled specialsts providing services for surgery, obstetric care, intensive care and pain management |

Acute and ongoing pain services |

Pre-Operative Assessment |
A nurse led pre-operative assessment unit for patients undergoing general, urology, maxillofacial, vascular and orthopaedic surgical procedures. |

Critical Care |
A 12 bedded intensive care and high dependency unit |

Sterile Services |
A service provided by a non NHS provider but managed by the directorate |
