The Bradford Vascular Surgical Unit offers a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to the management of patients with arterial, venous and lymphatic disease. The surgical team, consisting of four full time vascular specialists, offers a full range of reconstructive arterial surgery including aneurysm repair (weakness in the wall of blood vessel), carotid endarterectomy (plaque removal), upper and lower limb revascularisation and limb salvage surgery as well providing vascular access surgery, diabetic foot management, treatment of hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating) and a comprehensive range of treatments for varicose veins.

The unit, which is supported by specialist vascular anaesthesiologists, works closely with a team of three interventional radiologists who provide diagnostic ultrasound, arteriography and MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiography) as well as endovascular therapy including angioplasty, stenting and endovascular aneurysm repair. The unit is noted for its effective team working and has won several awards (both local and national) for its working practices. The services benefits from excellent physiotherapy and prosthetic support and is closely integrated with both the wound care service and the diabetic unit.
