Acute surgery is a large directorate and includes acute (emergency) and planned surgical specialities and gastroenterology; dealing mainly with abdominal (stomach), arterial (blood vessels) and urological conditions.  Our Digestive Disease Centre treats the whole range of gastrointestinal (digestive system) disease.  Our patients have excellent outcomes from treatment and surgery, using advanced techniques, and with an excellent safety record. 

Bradford is the West of West Yorkshire Centre for oesophageal (food tube), gastric and pancreatic surgery.  The centre for prostate and bladder cancers is working with Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and Airedale NHS Trust.

Services We Provide

Breast Services

An integrated symptomatic and asymptomatic breast service.                              

Digestive Diseases Centre

Deals with diseases in all areas of the digestive system and is a leading centre for laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery 

Urology

Cancer, benign disease, haematoma (internal bleeding), lithotripsy

Vascular Surgery

Aneurysm (ablood filled sac that forms in the wall of a blood vessel), major arterial interventions, minor surgery

General Surgery

Deals with lumps and bumps, hernias and abdominal pain.
