Bobby Dazzler of an Evening Raises £4000 at a Stroke
Bobby Davro was the guest speaker at the recent Bradford Society of
Chartered Accountants’ Annual Dinner, which raised nearly £4000 for
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Stroke
Services.
At a photo call held at Bradford Royal Infirmary’s Ward 24 on Monday 29
November, immediate Past President of the Society, Roland Clark (Baker
Tilly) presented Dr Chris Patterson and Dr Stuart Maguire with the
money raised by the after-dinner ‘True or False’ game.
Mr Clark said that the Bradford Society members were determined to give
themselves, their colleagues across the professions, their clients,
partners and friends, something to laugh about in the face of the
Comprehensive Spending Review and the onset of dark winter evenings -
and, as is the Dinner tradition, to raise some charity funds as
well.
At the photo call at Ward 24 he said: “I am delighted to be able to
hand over such a respectable amount of money and would like to thank
Society members and guests at our Dinner for their generosity.”
Consultant Stroke Physician, Dr Chris Patterson, said: "We are very
grateful for this donation and plan to spend the money on specialist
shower seating. Recovering stroke patients often tell us that the one
thing which improves their mood and well-being is having a shower on
the ward. Baths and showers can be difficult to perform for disabled
stroke patients due to safety issues and so the chairs are vital in
ensuring they get the showers they want."
