Bryan Millar to lead Bradford Teaching Hospitals
Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Finance, Bryan Millar, has been appointed Bradford Teaching Hospitals’ new Chief Executive it was announced today.
Bryan has been interim Chief Executive since November 1, 2011, following the departure of Miles Scott to St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust in London.
Chairman David Richardson said: “Bryan’s appointment as Chief Executive gives the organisation, our staff and patients the continuity, stability and leadership required to ensure we can continue to deliver an effective service.”
Bryan has worked in the NHS for over 30 years in a variety of roles within Yorkshire and the North East of England. After occupying a number of posts at District and Regional Health Authorities, Bryan joined Northgate and Prudhoe NHS Trust becoming their Director of Finance and Performance Management in 1993.
He became Director of Finance at Bradford Community Health NHS Trust in 1999 before moving to Bradford South and West PCT where he was Director of Finance and Deputy Chief Executive. Bryan joined the Foundation Trust as Director of Finance in October 2005. He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
New Chief Executive, Bryan Millar added: “I am proud and delighted to be able to take up this opportunity and I look forward to leading Bradford Teaching Hospitals through the challenging and exciting period ahead. I am confident that with the support of staff, governors and members, I can build on the excellent achievements of the past and help deliver a successful future for the Foundation Trust.”
