Acute Surgery
The Acute Surgery Directorate provides emergency, elective, general, specialist, surgical, gastroenterological and administrative services in Bradford and its environs. The Directorate comprises of the following wards and services:
- Ward 5 - Day Case Surgery
- Ward 8 - Male General Surgery
- Ward 11 - Female General Surgery
- Ward 14 - Urology Services
- Ward 20 - Acute Surgical Assessment Unit
- Ward 21 - Progressive Care Unit
- Ward 25 - Breast Care Unit
- Ward 26 - Vascular Services
- Gastroenterology/Endoscopy
- Bowel Cancer Screening Programme
- Digestive Disease Centre (DDC) - providing 8 beds on Wards 8 and 11, the DDC allows the integrated care of patients with obstructive jaundice, irritable bowel syndrome and gastrointestinal bleeding.
